Use of handling and transport technology

For a report on the use of handling equipment, we went to the north of Moravia to the company Krnovské pravny a strojírny s.r.o. (hereinafter referred to as KOS). This company successfully builds on the rich history of Railway Rolling Stock Repair Workshops.

Currently KOS with approximately 600 employees builds on a long tradition, expertise, knowledge and skills in welding production of railway rolling stock subassemblies, small batch production of trucks and historic vehicles. Thanks to this, the company successfully established itself in production and supplemented the range of services with the modernization of tram vehicles.

After the privatization of the company, large-scale investment construction focused on the quality of finishes (blasting and painting boxes of cars and trucks) began. The KOS company expanded the technology for repairing four-axle passenger cars (a sliding station and an electro test station were built). KOS ensures the quality of engineering production thanks to qualified personnel and high-quality machinery, among which are not lacking, for example: CNC burning machine, CNC machining center, CNC hardening machine, metallographic workplace or modern welding shop.
